very blury picture of the sunset...tried to delete, but couldn't figure it out!
Picture of Sailor boy and his mom...taken at Liz's house on Sunday...Go out to eat with a man in uniform, you get seated first and people come up and say thank you! Very proud mom here.

Ken, Bob and Kris. My three sons!

Kenneth is a Senior this year! Gosh, where does the time go?

Bob will be on his way to San Diego tomorrow. Not sure is his ship is still in port, but the navy will fly him to the ship if not. It is on it's way to Hawaii...Poor kid, sorry he will be going to such a wonderful spot. Kidding, isn't that cool?

A small town 4th

These are a few high lights from the Crescent City, CA. It was our tipical overcast July day, but at least it didn't rain~
These are a few of the Grand Marshalls, there were about 50 or more Grand Marshalls in the parade!

This is my friend Liz, she is a republican womens group member and was riding on their "float!"

Thought this was a cool entry, dog was wearing goggles.

Kenneth was in the town band, trombone player wearing the hat and sideburns.

This is our friends John, Mason and Aaron in John's 40 Ford. See Mason waving at the crowd.

One of the nice horse entrys.

My favorite small town float...recycled trash. Only in a small town can this be called a float!

Old Farts in Go Carts.

Uncle Sam aka Franks Heating!

It was an interesting parade, glad we went!

Sailor boy is home for a visit

Robert is home for a weeks visit. He is the same old Robert, but with short hair. His girlfriend Ashley, Kris, Julie, Dana and Ken and I all showed up at the Medford Airport to pick him up! Kris was so happy to see him that he actually picked Bob up! Ashley is a Marine, and will be at linguist school in the bay area, with Robert stationed in San Diego in July. He will be on the ship the Bonamy Richards, being a flight intel guy for the Marines. He will be on a west pack, 6 months in port and 6 months at sea. He will go back to Virginia Tuesday and start another round of school until July. Robert has been busy catching up with friends and will spend Monday with Kris and Julie and go back to school on tues.

This is the main gate to Great Lakes Navy Training Center. Notice the piles of snow! It was cold as cold can be...not going there again! This is a shot of Robert at the Gurney Mall in Illinois...it was the biggest mall I have ever been in. I did get to see was a Rain Forest Cafe looked like in person. This photo was at the Outdoor Store, where they have a lake inside the store.

I think Robert looks good in the navy suit, still miss his curly hair! The haircut makes his face look longer!

Robert's Graduation from Navy boot camp

This is the Division flag for Roberts group. Each division designs their own divisional flag. This is division 88 after they entered the graduation, removed outer garments and came to attention.

This is a blury picture of thier division receiving their awards. They took top test scores with only 3 point under perfect for the whole division, Captians cup and some other award that I can't remember. Their division photo along with their names will be in the hall of fame for their test scores. Robert was number 6, out or 80 men in his scores.

Division 911 did the flags...I did capture the California flag.

This blury shot is of Division 88's leaders receiving unit awards.

Is it summer?

After the bitter cold of December...we are now in a mode of summer like weather! it has been sunny and in the 60's and 70's. Dana and I went to the beach yesterday...it was 73* and no wind at all. We walked about 3 miles, and just enjoyed taking a day off of working on our house! We did get the final window installed, now to finish putting up the siding! Someday!
Found old zip in Robert's stuff! He seems happy to be dug out of the toy box for the first time in years! Good old zip, his arm still sqeeks! Roberts room remodel is almost complete...just have to finish the painting of the trip and crown molding, bring the bed back in and set up the tables and lamps. Have decided on a nautical theme, going to go through the photos of the kids and find some of them at the beach, and frame them to put in the new room. It is a very pretty room, will post photos when all put together!
